RECORDING
I work as a producer and/or mixing engineer for bands/artists in lots of styles, such as rock, pop, singer/songwriter, punkrock, metal, etc. I'm up for anything as long as I see potential in it. Let me explain how I work.
PRE-PRODUCTION
During the first step of the process I always take a good amount of time to look at every song to make it as good as it can possibly be. I look at melodies, song structure, arrangement, lyrics, phrasing, tempo, pitch.. Every song needs something different. Often I come up with a lot of ideas, but if opinions differ I always let the artist make the final call (obviously).RECORDINGS
I have my own studio located in Ridderkerk, The Netherlands (15km from Rotterdam), containing my control room and a live room I can use. It not only has everything that I need to create music the way that I think it should sound, but also has a decent living room area with fridge and coffee. I have enough gear in my studio that bands/artists can use. More info and photos in the studio section. I like to create a relaxed but creative environment, and don't stop till I feel the song has all that it needs.MIXING
I mix most releases that I work for as a producer, but am also fine with someone else mixing it. I like to do it the other way around as well: where I'm just mixing and not producing. If you live on the other side of the world, that's no problem: the great thing about mixing is the fact that you can easily send your files over the internet, get a mix back, and discuss any adjustments through Skype.MASTERING
I usually out-source mastering of my productions to a world class mastering studio in the USA.RATES
